Quality & Compliance
How we know the care is good — and how you can check
Compassion is the easy part to claim. This page is the harder part: our registration, our governance, how we train and supervise people, and what we do when something goes wrong.
Our regulatory status
CQC REGISTRATION — registration number, the regulated activities Bellus is registered for, and the registered location(s). Be precise: supported living or outreach that does not include a regulated activity is not CQC-registered, and a blanket badge would be inaccurate.
CURRENT RATING and a direct link to the inspection report. If newly registered and not yet inspected, say exactly that — honesty reads better than silence, and commissioners check anyway.
REGISTERED MANAGER — name and CQC registration
You can look us up independently on the Care Quality Commission website at cqc.org.uk.
Other registrations
- ICO data protection registration — NUMBER
- Employer's and public liability insurance — INSURER AND COVER
- Company registration — COMPANIES HOUSE NUMBER

How we govern quality
Good care doesn't happen because people mean well. It happens because someone is accountable, something is measured, and problems surface early.
Audit and monitoring
AUDIT SCHEDULE — what is audited, how often, and by whom
Accountability
WHO is accountable for quality, and how that reports up to the nominated individual and directors

Our staff standards
"Fully vetted" means nothing on its own. Here is what it actually involves.
- Background checks — DBS LEVEL, number of references, right-to-work checks
- Induction — LENGTH AND CONTENT, and whether it is Care Certificate aligned
- Mandatory training — FULL LIST and refresher frequency
- Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism — TIER AND COVERAGE
- Positive Behaviour Support training — LEVEL AND PROVIDER
- Supervision and appraisal — FREQUENCY
- Qualifications — FUNDED PATHWAYS OFFERED
Safeguarding
Raising a concern about someone we support
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, including yours. If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of someone we support, we would much rather you told us.
If someone is at immediate risk of harm, call 999.
You do not have to come to us first. You can contact the local authority safeguarding team directly, and we will co-operate fully with any enquiry.
NAMED SAFEGUARDING LEAD, contact route, and a link to the local authority safeguarding team for each area covered
Our commitments
- We follow local safeguarding board procedures
- We report notifiable incidents to the CQC as required
- We work to STOMP principles and reduce restrictive practice
- We support staff to raise concerns without fear — WHISTLEBLOWING POLICY LINK
- We apply the duty of candour
Our outcomes
Every provider says they are good. Very few publish numbers. We intend to be one of the ones that does.
Publish real measured figures only, with the period they cover and the date they were calculated. If the data does not exist yet, start measuring now and remove this section until it does — an unevidenced statistic is worse than no statistic.

Something not right?
We would always rather hear about a problem than not hear about it. Telling us is not a complaint about you — it is information we need.
