Live-in & Home Care

Care at home, so life carries on where it always has

From a little help in the morning to a dedicated carer living in, we build support around the routine someone already has — not the other way round.

Staying at home is usually the right answer

For most people the choice isn't really between one service and another. It's between staying in the house they know — the neighbours, the garden, the chair by the window — and giving all of that up.

Home care means keeping it, with support layered on top. It can be as light as a morning visit to help someone get up and dressed, or as complete as a live-in carer who becomes part of daily life.

We work with families, case managers, hospital discharge teams and solicitors, and we're used to arrangements that need to change quickly — after a fall, a diagnosis, or a hospital stay.

Who we support

  • Families looking for reliable, consistent care
  • Older adults who want to stay in their own home
  • Couples who want to stay together
  • People living with dementia
  • People coming home from hospital
  • Self-funders and people with a personal budget
  • Case managers, solicitors and discharge teams arranging care

Why Bellus

Fully managed care, not an introduction

We employ our carers. We supervise them, train them, cover their breaks and holidays, and we carry the responsibility for the quality of the care. That is different from an introductory agency, where you become the employer and the problems become yours.

  • Matched, not allocated — on personality and interests as well as skills
  • Thoroughly vettedDBS LEVEL AND REFERENCES
  • Properly trainedINDUCTION AND MANDATORY TRAINING
  • A named care manager and regular reviews
  • Support out of hoursON-CALL ARRANGEMENT

Paying for care at home

Cost depends on the level of support needed, so we quote after the free assessment rather than before it. What we can tell you is that our quote is the full cost — no agency fees, no hidden charges, and no obligation to proceed.

For couples, live-in care is frequently more economical than two care home places, as well as keeping people together.

DECIDE whether to publish weekly rates here — both major competitors do, and it improves lead quality

Help with funding

You may be entitled to more support than you realise.

  • Local authority funding after a Care Act assessment
  • NHS Continuing Healthcare where needs are primarily health-related
  • Attendance Allowance — not means tested, and often unclaimed
  • Personal Health Budgets and direct payments
  • Charitable grants, including condition-specific funds
  • Self-funding, with or without a deferred payment agreement
